Awesome Library Web-Based K-12 Education Online Resources
The Awesome Talking Library organizes the top five percent of Web resources in K-12 education and provides a voice and character (of your choosing) to speak the online text as an aid to reading. It can also benefit children and adults who are visually impaired or who have learning disabilities. It can be configured for Spanish and seven other languages. Each of the 22,000 entries in the Awesome Library is selected and annotated by a senior level educator. This desktop resource is available as a CD-ROM.
Criteria for entries in the database are available at http://www.awesomelibrary.org/ratings.html.
Recognitions for the Awesome Library are available at http://www.awesomelibrary.org/recog.html.
In addition, the Awesome Library is often listed as #1 in popularity for "k-12 library" or "k-12 education" on Web search engines.

Awesome Library Browser for Children (ALBC) provides libraries and schools
with a minimalist but effective method of keeping K-6 children from being
exposed to hard core adult sites--without the use of censorship lists.
ALBC does the following:
1.) Provides green space in the form of the Awesome Library and, if schools
or libraries choose, provides a link to their own Web sites on the toolbar
at the top of each page.
2.) Checks for a designation that only hard core adult sites use. Does not
allow hard core adult Web pages to load.
3.) Does not allow popup ads (unless you select to allow them).
